Having been established in 1964 by a group of Midlands enthusiasts.
Founder members were Stan and Olive Stones of Stanolly Kennel fame, who acted as Secretaries, Fred Cross (President) and Mary Taunt (Chairman). The Club was set up to serve owners, breeders and exhibitors. The objects of the Club are to promote the health, welfare and showing of Bedlington Terriers.

In 2024 we were very pleased to announce we have been awarded a 2nd Championship show by the Kennel Club, this is in recognition of our successful shows over the last few years.
We continue to have 2 Championship shows for 5 years.
Each year they will be held on the same day at the Kennel Club Building in Stoneleigh Park.

Although the youngest of the three breed clubs the MBTC is loyally supported by its members at the two open shows and two championship shows which it holds each year. The Club also holds breed seminars and fun days.
