The rescue was founded in June 2021. After the lockdown restrictions gradually started to lift after the COVID pandemic, we saw a huge increase in the amount of cats being abandoned. This was in Bradford, West Yorkshire, an area that struggled to keep up with the overwhelming number of abandoned cats and irresponsible breeding long.
The rescue was started by Sarah with only one foster cabin and a spare room. The first 2 residents Houdini & Angus arrived. Our first forster family came on board in September 2021 with cats Lileth & Gareth coming in after being left behind when their owners moved. COVID came along.
In January 2022 a second foster family came on board and Snowy joined us after his owner had passed away. In the summer of 2022 we ended up dealing with a colony of cats that resulted in us rescuing over 30 cats and kittens from one street in Bradford. Our Trustee, Shamsi, was helping Sarah with trapping at this point, a third foster family came on board and we had an additional 3 pens.
