The Italian Spinone Club of Great Britain was formed in the 1980’s, after the introduction of Spinoni to the UK in 1981. We now have in excess of 600 members both in the UK and overseas (from as far away as Australia). In this section of the website you will find up to date information about the Club including
Rehoming & Rescue
Our aim is to provide support and advice to owners who can no longer keep their Spinone, regardless of reason, or are having difficulty looking after their dog properly. Sometimes all that is required is advice and support and the dog can remain in its home. Alternatively we will help place the dog in an appropriate, vetted new home.
Many Spinoni we help are purely the victim of circumstance, (usually a significant change in the family situation) and the need for rehoming is through no fault of the dog or owner. If you have a Spinone you must rehome, or if you wish to take on an older Spinone (rather than a puppy), make contact with us and you will be given all the help and support available to make the transition as straightforward as possible for all concerned. The process should, in 99% of cases, mean only one move for the dog, from current to new home, and avoids the upsetting and unsettling ‘in transit’ situation of a rescue centre.
