U.K rescue, challenges they are facing how we help?
Since 2022 and the aftermath of the pandemic there has been a huge rise in animals being abandoned or being surrendered into U.K rescues on average 700 cats and dogs a day are coming into rescues across the nation centres are at bursting point.
So many of these reasons could be prevented we just need to have more resources and education for new pet parents especially so they can make better choices to which breed is situatable if any for their life style many people buy a puppy or take on a rescue without thinking of the commitments such as vet bills, grooming, food and insurances.
The costs are not the only thing that needs to be thought of the animal and breed it’s self is a big decision often we pick a pet that we think is a great addition to our home to find they do not fit in with our lifestyle they have too much energy, need too many walks, are a working breed that needs activities, malt and members of the family have allergies in some cases they grow too big and strong and are too difficult to manage other times they require a lot of training and have to have a good training routine in place to keep on track. All of these things need to be considered when taking on a new furry family member.
You also need to consider your long term life goals are you having children, moving, getting married, your work commitments and do you like to travel these things can all change over a period of time and when taking on a pet they often live to around 10-15 years on average some species much longer, we can help rescues by thinking about our own circumstances and if we think we would likely need to give up an animal due to these potential changes .
Get free non-judgemental support, you can book a discovery call new pet parents or people looking at having a pet they haven’t had before. Can have a chat and get clarity on what type of pet will fit into your life. It’s a resource anyone in the U.K can use and we are always happy to provide education this way we help prevent animals going into the care of rescue centres.
We also provide free training support to those of you that have taken on a pet which has become difficult to manage our aim to support you so that you can lead a calm and happy life with your pet rather than pet parents turning to rescues to surrender their animals due to not having support or other options available keep their furry family.
